I have a Canon T3 that I use with a tripod once in awhile. I have a quick release tripod plate screwed to the bottom of the camera. When it is time to change the battery or replace the memory card, I have to remove the tripod plate, then I have access to the battery or memory compartment. Is there some type of inexpensive gadget that can be mounted to the camera and tripod quick release plate so that I have quick access to change the battery or memory card?

Thanks for your help.

A different QR plate? I have a Sunpak tripod and its QR plate is small enough that I have access to the battery/SD card all the time. You could probably put some sort of threaded block spacer between the plate and the camera but it would have to be the thickness of the battery door when its opened.

There are plates for mounting your strap to the Tripod Screw, and they have a hole to maintain the Tripod or Plate, sometimes offset a bit. Black Rapid is the best known brand of such straps, look there to see what they may have. Many brands exist.....
