Hey all!

This is my first time posting images here. I put up a new feeder today and had a blast shooting away as the birds flocked to it. I was very happy with a few of my shots and wanted to share them.

A Tufted Titmouse checking out the new feeder:

A Blue Jay checking out the food situation:

A Blue Jay resting in the tree:

This one is a bit soft, but I just love the colors and the look of it. An American Tree Sparrow enjoying a moment of sun.

Very nice captures, Kirian.
I like the titmouse shot but perhaps exclude the feeder from the image? Blue jay is very common in my area but always very hard to shoot.
It seems you can benefit from more reach. A 500mm maybe?

Thank you cfcRebel :)

Interesting suggestion on the feeder - I kinda liked it in the image. Will have to try and see what it looks like without it.

I actually could have cropped the Blue Jay shots a bit tighter but I prefer not to crop if possible - personal preference :) I like to keep them full size, makes it easier for prints.

I would like a lens with more reach at some point - that is quite some time in the future though :)

Oh, i don't mean cloning out the feeder. Maybe can move the twig slightly away from the feeder, or adjust it to an angle where the feeder is outside the frame. :)

Hehehe - ya, I could certainly do that too. :) I was just so excited to be getting shots today I didn't honestly care what was in the frame. Especially of the Tufted Titmouse - you think Jay's move fast. They were also jittery cause I was kinda close where I was standing and the shutter noise was unnerving them.

This is just a whole other world. I have experience in other areas of photography but have never had a cam that was capable of getting good bird shots. I am having a ton of fun practicing too ;)

Welcome to the forum, Kirian!:D You'll find lots of friendly and helpful people here...BTW that last shot is a female House Sparrow, and you can also see the male right below her hidden behind the twigs.

You have some really nice shots, It is annoying for your copyright to be right on the central image. You could do a semi-transparent water mark place in a marginal position that would not be such a distraction and still maintain your control over your images.

Thanks to all for the comments!

dancad - thanks for telling me that the Sparrow was Female. I didn't know that :)

dancinec - I know the copyright is obnoxious and I have changed it - just need to redo these pics and re-upload them. :)
