I'd like to safely attach my Canon G9 to a Profoto Acute 600e pack with a sync cable. There is no sync jack input on the G9, so I'm looking at getting a hot shoe to PC adapter. I don't have the 600e or the included sync cable at this point. I'm assuming the end of the Profoto sync cable jack that fits into an adapter is universal, right? My question is, will I fry my camera if I don't use something like a Wein Safe Sync? A local camera shop has these for $70 (I can see they're cheaper online, but I will need something in place, to use, when my Profoto rig is delivered). Would it be safe to use a $10 Promaster hot shoe adapter (also available over here, right now). Affordability wise, I'm not sure I can afford a wireless set up right now, but I'm open to suggestions about that too. Thank you!
