This lake was formed after the Parker Dam (no relation to us damn Parkers) was completed in 1938. It's one of several that dam the Colorado River to provide flood control, as well as store water and produce electricity for numerous communities in AZ and CA, including the city of LA. It is 45 miles long and as wide as 3 miles in places. The water is extremely clear, but relects the nicest aquamarine color from the clear skies out here. Incidentally, it has been 103 days since there was rain here, and this is normally the wet season. Apparently, the west coast states are getting it all.

Wow nice view. 103 days and no rain. In Aus our dams would be almost dry.

Oh yes,i can defenetly see that,it starts from the bottom of the frame as green and continious as blue, this lake looks realy stunning.

That's a gorgeous picture! I wish I was out there instead of here in the wet northeast!

Thanks all for the feedback. This is a great area for snow birds and retirees. However, I would not want to be here in summer. Average high temp for July is 108 F.

Pretty photo, Stan. We visited Lake Havasu several times when my son lived there. How is London Bridge?
