I just got two Wasabi LP-E6 batteries for my Canon 7D. I charged both overnight in the Wasabi charger that came with the batteries. I put them in my battery grip and noticed that every shot I take, the number of shots are counted, increasing in number after each shots is taken. The Canon OEM batteries are counted down with the number of shots remaining on the battery. I have "registered" the batteries with the camera. Is there a reason why Wasabi batteries are counted with number of shots taken while the OEM batteries are counted with shots remaining?

Thanks

My 7D, with every firmware version, has always shown the number of shots taken and the percentage of charge remaining on each battery. This has been true for both the Canon brand and the MaximalPower brand batteries.

try it without battery grip.

I think what's happening is that the two wasabi batteries are using the same battery ID, so the camera is getting confused.
It's seeing a single battery, but the battery capacity isn't decreasing like normal.

Got it, thank you. It's now giving me the percentage left on all my batteries. and the shutter count used.

Thank you
