Later today I'm photographing a very small wedding, the bride of which happens to be 8 months pregnant. Through my conversation with the couple it's clear there is absolutely no issue regarding hiding or downplaying her pregnancy; but I was wondering if you ladies and gents have any tips for bringing out the best of the bride in this situation.

thanks a lot.

My wife and I married 3 years ago. Had our first last summer. If she was pregnant during our wedding, we would want that special moment included. I don't think you should shoot from the shoulders up. Having a child is special and so is getting married. Those to things combined should make for great shots. DO NOT leave that out. (unless she specifically asked you too)

I agree with Dan, it is a special time in their lives. It is not as if you are trying to make a larger bride appear thinner. Showcase it.

Although Tim's "take snacks," comment cracked me up.

I did one a couple of weeks ago. I just placed her beside/behind the groom and it is less obvious. However, my wife was able to spot it immediately when I showed her the pictures afterwards.

Always communicate with your clients to remove ambiguity. Don't assume. I would be more concern about her comfort on the wedding day being 8 mths pregnant. Keep the shoot light and easy.
