5D II vs 6D

I sold off all of my canon equipment in favor of a fuji setup, but I found the fuji to be limiting for what I wanted to do with it. I'm now making the move back to DSLRs.

I had a Canon 5DII, but I'm unsure of what to get now. The 5DII satisfied most of my needs, but many people say that the 6D is better. I'm going to be buying used so the prices difference will only be a couple of dollars.

Which would you buy in this situation?

The newer camera, of course.

I bought the 5DII because its still a savings and there were a few features about the 6D that bugged me. The lack of a pc sync port, and slow x sync were the main ones. The improved ISO and tweaked focus system would be nice, but the rest put me off, and the price between the two was not inconsiderable at that point.

I'de save up for something else or simply keep the 5D2. The upgrade isnt a true upgrade. Smaller body, no joystick, and less shutter durability. 6D is marginally better in some ways, but based on raws I've played with, I wouldnt upgrade the 6D for IQ.... i'de do it for the wifi, super center point, and small size....

The 6D is the best low light camera that I have ever used.

I'de buy the best camera for whatever budget personally. if the budget were small, I'de go for a second hand 5D2.

If it were me I would go 6D. I mostly shoot landscape and portraits, so I don't need anything to fancy in the AF dept..although I'm sure the 6D is probably better than my 40D and 5Dc!

Plus, it's nice to have something new and different to play around with!

5DII or III as the 6D doesn't have the proper controls I require in a DSLR.

I am debating the same decision....

Which AF system would be more suited to stopping motion at a distance? I shoot a lot of birds and surfers.

Hope I'm not derailing the thread. Just looking to further the discussion.

I am shopping, too. The 5D2 has a crippled auto-ISO function: locked at 400 in manual. USELESS!

I don't think it's that simple. The 6D has some more improvements than just better low light performance.

Fixed that for you.

I got the 6D. I was looking at 5D2, 5D3 or 6D. I was leaning to the 5D3 but after using a 6D in the studio I was sold. It has all the features needed to take control of the shot. It has outstanding ISO performance. Built in wifi is nice to use in the studio. And the price gave me more cash for other things. I also just flat out like the way it feels in my hands compared to the others.
