Dutch scenery (and some other first shots)

Nice picture. Where were those windmills? I'm looking forward to taking my 10D to the Netherlands the next time my wife and I go; my wife is an Amsterdam native. Not sure she'd want to go to this location because, as a 'city girl', she thinks cows and horses are 'wild and dangerous animals'. I can't seem to convince her otherwise. She definately doesn't wear wooden shoes...

I don't know where this shot was taken, but a great site for windmills in Holland is Kinderdijk south and east of Rotterdam. Very well known so on any map. They have about 20 windmills there. I was there in May and had an excellent day. Then went back a few days later at sunset. I highly recommend a side trip there.

These windmills are located in Leidschendam. Its a small place just outside The Hague. The place is known as: "de drie molens" (the three windmills).

If you travel from The Hague to Amsterdam by car you'll see them at your right hand.

You should have moved closer so the fence was out of the frame. Also a -1/3 or -2/3 lesser exposure would have made the trick. That would have made a nice picture in an tourist broshure. Also, i would like to add some shrpeness.

There was a fence and a little stream between me and the windmills. So i couldn't get any closer without getting my feet wet.

I've processed the scaled image with auto level in photoshop. I've made another picture of these windmills and the colors of it are much better. The composition isn't as good as this one (imho). I'll post it when i get home. And i also saw that i forgot to upload the full image of the windmills. If you look at that you'll see that it is a lot darker. You can see that in the thumbnail too.

Any comments on the other pictures?

Yes thats a cleaner picture. But the windmills are nicer in first shot. A word of advise.. Skip the Auto-levels in PS and set your own levels. Here is what i mean (hope you dont take offence of me loaning your picture.
