Is this the place for it?

Hope so!

Anyways, I have a bunch of different styles of pictures I want it on so if there was a general area for it that would be cool!

Either way,
I am very content with these pictures.
I am mainly looking for ways to improve them.
The indoor portraits are bad for lighting right now since its all natural from one window.
The black always has a lot of noise.
I am in the process of finding a cheap way to set up a homemade studio!

These are very nice photos and welcome to POTN. Critique corner is the usual place to ask for critiques and advice.

#1 - The bokeh is too distracting and I would not shoot upwards like that. It is just not as flattering.

#2 - Would be better if she was off centered to the right instead of the left with the direction she is facing. I would also do something about the wrinkles in the backdrop. The pose overall just does not seem very good. I would at least have her eyes open.

#3 - Great shot! I cannot pick anything out to critique on this one :)

#4 - Good capture but the light is just too harsh. If you are using a flash I would try to bounce it off of the ceiling and maybe even bump up your ISO to try and get some more ambient light.

Sorry if this is kind of critical... I usually hate trying to give criticisms because it makes me feel like a jerk lol. I am just offering things that may help you.

If you are wanting a fairly cheap studio you should pick up a roll of seamless white paper. We put a 107" roll of white seamless up and it has been awesome.

White paper ~ 65 dollars (external link)

I then picked up a fairly thick dowel rod and some closet brackets. So for under $100 I have a nice permanent seamless white background hanging up :). You can also get some 4'x8' white tileboard to give a reflective floor for about $15 each at home depot.

I prefer direct feedback.
Thank you, and yes I felt the same about most of your feedback as well.
I will definitely look into those things. They were on my list of items to buy as well.

right now I am trying to figure out lighting, even tho I am picking up a 430 speedlite soon.
