I see it for $399. Is there another rebate in addition to the $100 instant?

My mistake, I'm sorry - I was looking at it on my phone; I thought the $50 rebate was in addition to the $100 savings they already mark off. $399 - not quite as good a price as $349!

My Canon 50mm 1.4 took a shat on me and the autofocus motor broke. The repair is really time consuming and expensive, therefore I will never buy one again. When I get the money, I'll likely opt to replace it with a Sigma 50mm (holding out for a new "Art" version).

Same thing happened to me... and when I got the Sigma I realised it's image quality, especially the bokeh, totally blows away the Canon 1.4.

I like canon 1.4 for the way it renders from focus to out of focus and my copy is a tad sharper at center than sigma. Faster autofocus and more consistent autofocus.

I like the Sigma 1.4 because it has far better bokeh in high contrast backgrounds, and has less halo effects in this kind of environment. My copy, the autofocus consistency is just good with the 5Diii.

I think the 50 1.2, you get the best of both and that 1.2 magic. downside is the focus shift at close range is very noticable. I don't own this lens, just get this sense from bloggers.

Yes, see the problem is on all 3 of these lenses the focus is not very reliable.
However, I would argue that the Sigma 1.4 has slightly nicer bokeh than the 50mm 1.2, and at it's price point it's great value. However I find the build quality questionable, I've never seen a lens that sucks in so much dust.

Based on my personal experience with the Sigma 1.4 on a 5D2 and a 6D, I categorically reject the notion that the focus on this lens is not reliable. It has been ROCK SOLID for me. I lose no photos, not even 1, on the lens not focusing properly.

You haven't used the 17-55 yet.
