High winds cancelled 2 local events last week & shortened yesterdays but it was a pretty good one until mid afternoon. One of the club members decided to go all out on a Corsair by giving it folding wings & working cowl vents. He said he had about 400 hours in doing the job because he built both a fixed wing & then the folding wing & made / engineered as needed until things worked. The wings are fully controlled by the radio system & can be raised or lowered & locked out on the field. The builder fashioned it after one in the Vintage Wings collection & was wearing one of their T shirts too.

Here's the real thing from last fall's show

And the R/C

Great model, but it REALLY needs a pilot in there. I hate seeing models without a pilot, it's just not right.

Agree BIG TIME about the need for a pilot & tell them that too. I suspect he will add one now that it's been maidened & proven air worthy.

A quick touch-up trim with a lawnmower would be nice, too. ; )

Whoa, it took me to the third image before I realized RC meant Radio Control.. I seriously though the first two were real planes! That 2nd image fooled me for a second.

Great shots!

Thanks everyone. I've got a couple of other nice warbirds to use in a separate thread as soon as I finish editing them.
