Recently I bought a Canon 70-300L IS and am very happy with that lens(using a 6D)
Now I am planning to get the Tamron 24-70 F2.8. I also have the Canon 24-105L and I do like that lens.
However, I wonder if I should keep it after getting the Tamron?
Maybe some forum members that had similar situation can give some opinions and reasons either way(keep or sell?) and why?

The Tamron is a brilliant lense with much less wide angle distortion than the 24-105.

I would sell it, if it were me. Too much money to have sitting around for that much redundancy. Lots of other good stuff to put to use that ~$700 you would get for the 24-105

I kept mine. Every time I think about selling it I remember how handy it is as a walkaround when I am on holidays.

why dont you just keep it for a while and see if you use it or not. if it collects dust then sell it. After you get the Tamron this should be a very easy decision to figure out on your own.

The reason LJG pointed out is what I fear most when I sell it. However, as Elitejp stated the best option is to keep it around for a while and see how things progress I guess.
.....decisions, decisions....:)

I agree 100% with this option. I've regretted selling a lens before for simular reasons. Unless you have to sell one to afford the other it's best to hold onto the 24-105 for awhile until you feel comfortable with the decision to keep or sell the lens.

My sister, the professional baker and cake decorator once told me that my camera takes great pics. My reply was that I thought her oven baked great cakes.
