Well, since no-one else has posted photos from the TT then I suppose I should.
This selection is not just about the bikes but hopefully show where the racing takes place - on 37.73 miles of public roads around the island. Through villages and towns and over the mountains (in world terms they are mere hills but it is called the Mountain Circuit).

C&C always welcome

Great shots Alan. Number 5 looks like you were standing in the middle of the road  Those guys have big nuts, that's all I can say!! Love the last 2, they are great, number 26 looks like he is really trying.

Great pictures Alan, and loads more on your site. I like the sidecar in the late evening sun. Shows how difficult it must be to ride in the light at that time of the evening.

Cheers guys.

Aidan, all the sidecar riders complained about the low sun during practice. The sidecars usually go off last in the evening and get the worst of it but now they have at least one practice session where the solos go out last and they were all complaining about the lighting conditions as well.

With 5 more races to come (including the electric bike race) I shall be posting more photos up towards the end of the week.

P.S. I love that you're capturing the surroundings and like that, I think even more of the "ambiance" of the place would be appreciated. I've never been to this event, but it's definitely on my must-do list. I'd imagine that the logistics of getting to and from the island, finding good rooms etc., would be tricky during the event, is that correct or is it not so bad ?

Mike, the key to coming to the Isle of Man is to book early, lots of people will already have booked for 2014 before they arrived for this years races. Transport to the island is ok, flights from many English airports, ferry from Liverpool or Heysham, problem is if you want to bring a car to the island is the ferries are pretty well booked up for the race week sailings for 2014 by now, no problem for foot passengers as they don't tend to get booked up till closer to the time.
Quite a few hotels and lots of camp sites if you are willing to rough it for your visit. They also have a system called "home stay" where locals provide rooms for visitors. Again early booking is essential.
Don't let this put you off, even if you visit for only a few days the island has lots to offer besides the racing, beautiful countryside and beaches.
And when the weather is like it is today, you wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Great set! Glad the rain finally left so they could actually race. Any pics of the TTZero race with Rutter, McGuiness, and Mark Miller?
