Would like to share with you these barbet I took recently.

The Fire-tufted Barbet (Psilopogon pyrolophus) is a species of bird in the [[family (biology)|] Megalaimidae. Its genus, Psilopogon, is monotypic.
It is found in Indonesia and Malaysia. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.

What a fascinating looking bird Jeffery, and wonderful captures to boot!
I'd love to know the evolutionary significance of the tuft, although surely it has something to do with attracting a mate.

Steve! I think so too because only the male has the tuft and always the male are much more beautiful and colorful.

Thanks
