I use Windows Live Photo gallery for my photo management, and I like it. When I bought Elements 10 I installed PSE organiser and I don't like it. In WL I just open 1 file in a folder and get a large preview, and use left and right to flick through the folder and del to delete. Seemples!. In PSE0 I can't do that. I have to close the file and open the next one manually. As it's just a collection of thumbnails (which I get in explorer anyway) it surprised me to find these thumbnails take up half a GB of space. I want to get rid of it, without damaging the elements editor, but feel I may be missing something that will make my photo management even more seemples. What would be nice is to hear your opinions on dumping PSE organiser. In short, I'm looking for a darn good reason to use it over WLPG. All opinions will be greatly apreciated.
Regards,
Col.

Yes you can.
In the Organise view there is a slider above the image that allows you to alter the size of the thumbnails, so you can view several in a grid or just one. You can move quickly between images by just pressing the right/left arrow keys and hit a number to add stars (rating the images) and tags.

From the sound of it you just haven't spent the time necessary to learn how it works. I don't mean that in a bad way. PSE is just more complex that WLPG and so takes longer to learn. The up side is that once learned it can do way more.

I would suggest you watch these AdobeTV tutorials on using the organiser before you dismiss it. They are for PSE9 but I am pretty sure the functionality is the same http://tv.adobe.com …arn-photoshop-elements-9/ (external link)

Ultimately, if you really don't like it then just don't use it. You can't remove it but you can ignore it and configure PSE to load the Editor, instead of the Organiser and just use that.

Thanks Dan, that was the kind of comment I was after, and you're bang on the buck, I haven't played with it.

I used PSE organiser for about a year and liked it. It makes checking/culling images really easy. You just right arrow through and mark the ones you want to keep with a couple of stars. Then you just display zero stars or lower (using the filter view button which is close to the slider I mentioned in my previous post) and it displays only the duds. You can select them all and delete in one go. After a year I tried Lightroom and hated it. However, I checked out a few tutorials, sat and worked through the controls and now I much prefer it. The organiser is much better and the RAW development options vastly superior. Still use PSE for pixel editing of course.
