I've been looking for one of these for longer than I care to admit. I always check out the trees when I'm shooting, just to see if I can find one. Never have, till now.

He wasn't bothered by me one little bit so I didn't manage to get one of it extending itself out to look more like a branch.

Beautifully patterned, beautifully camouflaged, and fascinating looking bird Andrew. No wonder they're so hard to find. :)
Extremely nice feather detail you've managed and the background colors are exquisite. Excellent job!

Probably the coolest, yet weirdest bird I have ever seen! Thanks for sharing this. Beautiful.

WOW, very nice photos Andrew! A++

I like them both, but I think I like #2 more because of the nice warm lighting in the background. Although the first is a winner too, all that extreme detail...fantastic! :)

Great looking bird. I love the vermiculation in the feather colors. A great catch.

Great catch Andrew. Sad to see only one, I usually see the locals in a pair. They always go back to the same site to mate, so you can get lucky and find a family if you can find their mating tree.
