USB 2.0 for RAW?

I've tried looking around but not having a heap of luck. I need a thumb drive to give to family for photos they want to print. My DSL is incredibly slow, so email isn't an option for RAW images.

Can you steer me to a Mac compatible USB that is reliable, and quick? 16 gb, or 32 gb if there's any advantage other than space.

Thanks.

???
Any thumb drive will work. Just make sure to format it with FAT and not NTFS.

Which they will all come out of the box. Well, FAT32 actually, but its functionally the same.

Are you giving RAW photos for a reason? Most labs can not do anything with a RAW file. And most people wont know what to do with it either.

My lack of clue is obvious, so puzzled looks are appropriate. But that's why I asked.

I'm not versed in computers or digital images, so I apologize for my ignorance.

My girlfriends mom wants to print some photos I took. They're saved in RAW and high quality jpeg on my laptop. Are high quality jpegs the best to give her for printing?

I upload RAW with EOS software and use Picasa to edit, then I save as jpegs there to my picture folder.

Sorry to sound like an idiot. Just looking for clarity..

Yup give her the jpegs, think of the RAW file like a film negative.

Yes, give your future mother-in-law the JPGs. In addition to being compatible with just about any computer without special software, the JPG files are also smaller so they will transfer to your USB drive much faster. In fact, you could even email the JPGs to her, or upload them to a sharing site or Dropbox and let her download them herself.

It may be obsolete in the Mac world or even PC, but I sometimes burn a CD or DVD of pics from a concert and send to the band. Disc cost around 25 to 75 cents in Printable form. $2 postage. Last week I began a Flickr account, proving perfect for my needs. I upload at night to avoid waiting on my 15/5 service.
