I have always been so shy about showing my photos, especially considering the quality here on POTN.
I decided to bite the bullet and have setup my first ever blog - would appreciate C&C in order to make it better.

Herewith the link http://booysenphotoadventures.wordpress.com/ (external link)

thanks

First of all I like the blog.
Congrats.

What I would change: I would not show the full article but instead use a ”Read more link”.

Would make it easier to read.

Thanks for your feedback. So if I understand you correctly I should start the article (say three lines) and then use the "read more link" that the reader can click should they want to read further ie almost like a preview to the article?

Any idea how I use that link in Wordpress?

Probably more than three lines. I always use a preview picture and something like 5- 10 lines before including the "read more" link.

It should be above the editor window in wordpress

See this screenshot:

And something about customizing it:
http://wordpress.org …use-the-read-more-feature (external link)

I guess its personal preference but I like it more this way because to me it means less scrolling.

I think the home page should have a list of recent adventures. And as Richie suggested, you don't need to show the full adventure post on the home page, just a snippet of photos and summary about the adventure with the read more link.

Good start though.
