Which Strap?

After shooting with my 70-200 2.8 and 5d ii for a couple hours my shoulder was wore out. Looking to upgrade my strap to possibly something more comfortable and practical. The stock strap doesn't seem to work to well with this combo. Was looking at the black rapids, but which one?

i use a spider holster system when i'm using that lens/ body combo and love it. takes the weight and stress off the shoulders.

Get the classic if you have one camera. I have 2 1DX bodies one with 70-200 other 16-35 both with flashes on top of them and no discomfort after 10-12 hours shooting time.

Love my spiderholsters
Takes the weight off your neck/shoulders and puts it on your hips where it should be.
If your using two cameras its not quite as quick to switch as the blackrapid system, but is still nice and quick after a bit of practice.

When I wear mine out (should be a few years away still, but I use them a lot) I will be buying a second set

Black Rapid

I use a Blackrapid RS Sport. It comes with the brad attachment so it won't slip. My only complaint is that I waited too long to buy it.

I'm partial to the Cotton Carrier. Uses a holster system somewhat along the lines of the Spider Holster, except the camera is on your chest, not as vulnerable to smashing into things as when on your hip.

When worn correctly, the weight is carried on and by your chest, not your neck & shoulders. It is not as bulky as it looks.

I got my Luma Cinch 2 a few weeks ago and I love it. I carry my 7D + 100-400 combo on it all the time while birding and even after 2 or 3 hours on the trail, I can barely feel the weight of the camera, and it sits so comfortably against my back that it it ergonomically fantastic. I'm very happy with it. Plus, it is US made and at $60 or so, there's not much to not like.

I'll second the BlackRapid. I picked one up a last year based on Scott Kelby's advice. Best thing since sliced bread. I can carry around my 70-200 f4L on my 7d for hours without bothering my neck. My daughter bought the Women's BlackRapid. She's a pretty small gal and she hauls around her 70-200 f2.8L on her 7d without any trouble. Good luck in making your decision.

x2 for the CarrySpeed. Mine is a CS-3 with the nylon strap and newest (non-foldable) baseplate. They have several different styles of straps and baseplates also. Makes carrying the gear (even if it's not nearly as heavy as yours!) much much nicer.

Unless that is your second body, shouldn't the camera be IN your hand and not hanging out on your shoulder?

I would second at least considering the CarrySpeed straps. I have the FS-SLIM Camera Sling Strap with F-1 Foldable Mounting Plate and it is very comfortable when carrying 5D2 with 70-200mm 2.8. I can only compare to the original Canon strap, I haven't used BlackRapid. It is very easy to remove the strap when not needed, leaving the plate in place.
