my class just got a epson 1280 photo printer. on my i9900 i use illford classic pearl for matte and canon photo paper pro for glossy, what would you reccomend for the epson, would the classic pearl work just as well on it? and what glossy should i order.

I would recommend Moab papers: http://www.moabpaper.c​om/ (external link)

Used them on the 1280 and the 4000 . . . they've worked great. Can't say much about the glossy papers they offer, as I mainly use the Entrada. Moab also has a nice selection of ICC profiles for Epsons on their paper stocks.
