Have a 430 II, looking for an off camera flash setup. Sometime to learn with for a while. Will the PW Plus III Transceiver (on 6D) work with Flex TT5 (mount flash on this). What else do I need? Why does the FlexTT5 get such bad reviews on Amazon?

Can't help you with PWs but in answer to your last question - I wouldn't take too much notice of Amazon reviews at all. There's no way of knowing the real level of expertise of the 'reviewer' other than that they can make a keyboard 'sort of' work (but they can't use spel-chequers :rolleyes Phil ǁ Kershaw Soho Reflex: 4¼" Ross Xpres, 6½" Aldis, Super XX/ABC Pyro in 24 DDS, HP3/Meritol Metol in RFH, Johnson 'Scales' brand flash powder. Kodak Duo Six-20/Verichrome Pan. Other odd bits over the decades, simply to get the job done - not merely to polish and brag about cos I'm too mean to buy the polish!

The PW triggers should play well with each other for the most part. There is a bit of kludging involved since youll have to open up the PW utility, hook up the triggers to your computer with the utility, update the triggers, and make the adjustments as needed. This to me is one of the big downsides to these triggers: having to go into software to make adjustments, test, make adjustments, test, etc... versus getting more basic dumb triggers that just tell the flash to flash (which, you can do with your setup, but again, you have to go into the utility to make the needed adjustments). http://imagedphotography.com

Yes, the Plus II will be able to trigger a flash mounted on a FlexTT5. However, the FlexTT5 will need to be set to receive on the Standard Channel (default is to receive on the ControlTL channel) since that's what the Plus II transmits on. And, of course, there will be no ControlTL functions, such as adjusting flash power level, Hypersync, HSS, etc. You'll need a FlexTT5 or a MiniTT1 on top of the camera to use those features. DanFrank wrote in post #16006860 What else do I need? Nothing else if all you want to do is to remotely trigger a flash. DanFrank wrote in post #16006860 Why does the FlexTT5 get such bad reviews on Amazon? No idea as I haven't read the reviews on Amazon. ...Leo
