You don't know me, but I'm sort of a new member again. I was really into shooting a few years back. I had some family tragedy, some job problems, money problems, left the wife. Things haven't been kind to many since 2008.

So today, I dusted off the 1Ds Mk.II, my pentax film lenses and my new $10 adapter. I sold almost all my gear to pay my mortgage when times were skinny but I have a busted 17-40 and broken 50 1.4 left in a box. Kept my prized body though.

If you do remember me, I'm waving back.

My first shot in over three or four years since I lost my stepsister:

I'll have to sort out some hosting issues for my body or work, I have up my domain name after I folded my business.

Thanks!

I'm going to add some of my work to my flickr account for now. I might go back to an actual domain soon.

I'm excited about getting back on the horse.

You are welcome.

Have you thought about creating a pinhole from a body cap and a piece of shim stock (or other thin piece of metal)? Cheap, and fun for experimenting.

Damn dude...that's some rough stuff...glad to hear you're back to the hobby, though...it can be very therapeutic!

Best of luck and good to see you back! :)

...hey man, I remember you and that wonderful thread you wrote: how could anyone not? Your thread was one of the reasons I stuck around the board: it was inspiring and powerful and I've heeded lessons from the words you posted. It changed the way I shoot things. Welcome back on the wagon, and welcome back to the boards.

I remember you, too. Welcome back!

There is no better diversion or therapy or stress reducer that photography. Grab a forest, sit on a rock, snap some shots and everything else in the world ceases to exist. Hope things go better for you.

Hey, COS good to hear from you again. I was in White Rock when you were on in the valley back in the 2000's. Now I'm back on the prairies.

I too grew up on Vanc Island. Nanaimo and north. Good to see you've got the bug back and have overcome your obstacles.
