Sunrise at Sweetheart Abbey, Nr. New Abbey, Dumfries - have played around with this quite a bit in PS to get it right but don't feel it's over processed - your comments would be appreciated.

Great shot David. Can i ask something unrelated though please? How do you get the copyright symbol on your pictures? Ive tried to find it using PS7 with no joy.

Cheers

Whatever you have done with PP has realy worked.
For these(very hard)shots i think that any kind of PP is worth it.
Fantastic job David.

ps.you need to give us some lessons.

I like it David, it has an almost painting like look, and especially so where the columns lead you into the sunrise yellows.

Sweetheart Abbey - What an evocotive name. You are fortunate to live in a country with such a well preserved and deep history. Down in this part of the world we can only dream of images such as this.

That is a gorgeous picture. Thanks for sharing it.

Wow, beautiful. When ever I'm in Germany, I spend at least ½ of the time just going to these types of places. This shot almost looks like a painting. The little bit of sky has amazing colors. Great shot and nice post work.

How do you get the copyright symbol on your pictures?

You can do this (if you're using a pc) by holding the alt button and then hitting 0169

Love the composition. The photo looks very mystical to me....almost like I should see a unicorn running through it :)

Thanks for all the comments - one thing which I can't see is how it looks like a "painting" but each to their own, we all view things differently.

Whilst I did a fair amount of post-processing to get the balance of light and shadow correct. Using the artistic tools in PS wasn't one of them, in fact I don't really care for photographs that have been tampered with, in that way. If I wanted a painting I'd take brushes and paint with me not a camera.

It was one of those shot's that when you see it and then look through the viewfinder you know you have a good composition and photo.

Thanks again for viewing it and leaving comments.
