Inspiration credit goes to Terry for reviving the "non insect macro" thread :D

Some old test wafers from back in my semi-conductor days. Pretty much straight out of the camera. Light source was a diffused (paper towel) CFL desk lamp.

Hope you enjoy. Was contemplating titling this series "Repetition" or something to that effect...anywho on with the show

WOW, superb.

Actually, I have a wafer myself (was given as an unusual gift by a friend when I was last over in the US). I've never actually thought of photographing it. Now I am inspired :)

Thanks Ian, takes a lot of experimentation on how to angle the light and rotate the wafer. I had originally tried this back in march but became frustrated with dialing the light source to angle properly to get the colors to pop :)

Thanks for the tips JD. Stuck in work till 9:30pm (On a sunny Saturday pff) but on rest day for a few after this so think I'll give it a whirl (need to remember where it is :) )
