I don't have 7D body. Does it take an SD card? Eyefi cards are SD cards.

So you get CF Card that adapts the SD into the CF. Be careful on which one you get, if EyeFi has one get theirs, it is proven to work that way.

You just use a CF -> SD card converter into which you put the wifi SD cards.

There is also the Toshiba FlashAir: http://www.amazon.com …keywords=Toshiba+FlashAir (external link)

People seem to be having trouble with the Transcends.

I've got these in various cameras and no problems so far.

That's good to know. Any links or info on the problems with the transcends?

Sorry. I read up on them but I didn't keep the links. But I've found the EZ-share cards work pretty well so far. That's not definitive!!!

One key thing is you have to stop cameras going to sleep energy-saving as it cuts off the wifi transmission.

I was in the Samsung store the other day and transferred a file straight up to a Galaxy Note II I'd never seen before from my pocket camera.

It's my version of phone pictures. I never use the phone's actual camera.

Oh and there are dedicated apps which I haven't used so far...

Think you quoted the wrong post, the Toshiba FlashAir is getting good reviews. Will have to look into the ez h@are (INVALID EMAIL).

there are professionals using this technology to send photos they are taking to wedding guest tables with an ipad on display. I couldn't make it work reliably even though I have 1, I have trouble using it on my 5D3 and my ipad.

I have one Flashair it works pretty well. But as I say, the Transcends seem to be giving people problems with various cameras. I have heard of no problems with the EZ-Share and so far I haven't had any problems with them either.

OK, looking at my browser history, you need to go search on the dpreview.com/forums. Hope this helps.

says no worky for a 7D

I've just done a test with the 32Gb EZ-share SD card [as above] inside the 4th gen CF adapter I've also illustrated above in a Canon 7D.

It all works very smoothly with the JPGs going over easily via wifi to a cheap feature-phone via its web browser...

...Now tried it with same setup in the 7D over to a MacBook Pro. Works just fine.

I don't have an iPad to try it out with but I have no reason to believe that won't work just as easily.

...Now tried it with an iPhone 5. That works too.

I've had the wifi grip for the 7D since I bought the camera. As anyone who has ever used one will confirm, it's an incredible headache to use. To call it clunky is just being polite. Using multiple cameras of different sizes, this is way more convenient and - with the 7D, I don't end up with just one battery in it either.

Good lord, could you make it more complicated and expensive?

The eye-fi cards work. I've used them in 5D and 1D cameras, 30D, T2i, XS, G12, Nex 5, Fuji X100 sending to iPads, Samsung Tabs, PCs and MacBooks using the native eye-fi apps along with third party apps.

If you can't get it working, you're not doing it right.

....the best camera is the one you have on you at the time.

I just ordered the eye-fi pro. It is said to have a built-in Wifi positioning system linking to Skyhook. It adds location data into your exif and sidecar as you shoot.
