Well, I am looking for an other prime to take with me during my travels.

So I was thinking about those two.

Main use will be low light to night mainly, for example indoors, and covered markets and scenes.

I heard the 35 is great, but for the price I can pick up a 20mn and a 30mn.

Is there a significant IQ and AF difference? AF speed is not a huge factor, I won't use it for sport events.

Short answer - YES

Longer answer - You get what you pay for

Having said that, I would just get the Sigma 30 on a 7D if I were you unless you are planning to go ff in near future.

i'd get the 30mm, and then get a wider lens to pair with your 24-105L

I see, we'll yes I plan to go FF but the new 5d is not supposed to come out before 2015 so I got time.

And on the wider note, I have been thinking about getting the canon 20mn.

You mean the 20mm f/2.8 right? It will give you a wider perspective for sure, closer to the perspective of 35mm on FF (well not exactly, but close enough on aps-c) however you have to remember that its only f/2.8 and it has 5 non-rounded aperture blades so the bokeh you will get out of it will not be as smooth as you might be looking for, especially on crop. There is also the Sigma 20mm f/1.8 which is faster, but its also not exactly the greatest lens to use for what seems like your intended purpose either.

In that case, what is best 20mn for apsc one can get? The canon doesn't have great review, and the sigma too.

does it have to be a prime? most of them aren't very fast when you get under 24mm...when i mentioned getting something for the wide end, i was thinking more along the lines of a 10-22mm...i might've missed that you had the 15mm fisheye though...but the 10mm would still be wider

of course it all depends on what you shoot...

I have seen many 10mn, the fisheye is pretty much the same once u rectify the curve.
Basically I am looking for a lense I can you for my travels, use for indoor, local markets, streets. Basically where the 24, will be a little too "close up" .

Ps: I would stick with the 15mn but the subject pretty much has to be in the centre, so it sort of limits the composure selectivness.

10mm is wider by a pretty big margin...

I have the new 30mm and like it quite a bit. From all I've seen, though, the 35 is a better lens and among the best in terms of IQ for that range. One important reason I went with the 30mm instead of the 35mm was the size and weight of the 35. I like to travel light from time to time and the 30mm is much smaller and lighter than the 35mm. The 35mm is approximately the size and weight of your 24-105 (very slightly smaller, but about the same weight). That matters to me, but may not be important to you.

On the paper (MTF charts from the manufacturer), the new 30mm looked as good as the (now legendary) 35mm. In reality, everything I heard suggests the 35mm is substantially better.
