A friend and I did a run up to Colchuck Lake the other weekend to scope out hiking conditions. We got to the lake early in hopes of a great sunrise, but didn't get lucky.
Here is one of the images I took that day.

I believe it is officially called the Stuart Lake trailhead. rparchen wrote in post #16024084 Great shot Robert and I like the weather like that, seems to work well. Let me know if you want to go out with us sometime. Robert McCadden

Normally I'm out the door between midnight and 2am on Friday and back sometime on Saturday. In the past couple months I have been to the Oregon Gorge twice, Leavenworth twice, Olympic NP once, Winthrop once, and Mt St. Helens once (all nighter on weeknight to shoot stars, ouch). On my radar for the near future is Rainer, Oregon Coast, Palouse, and a number of alpine hikes once they are snow free. huntnthyme1 wrote in post #16027964 Fantastic image!! Thanks Robert McCadden

It will look even better once the lake finishes thawing. In the summer months the lake is deep blue. I believe it's the Glacial silt that helps give the lake it's normally deep blue color.
