Pair 7d with 6d

Would it be smart to have a 6d as a second body to pair with a 7d? Or should I save for 5d mk 2 or 3?

Depends on what you shoot the most. You can have both bodies and each one for different stuff.

If you want to only use one body that can almost do it all, 5D3 is the choice.

I now exclusively use my 5D3 for everything, while 7D sits in the house 95% of the time.

I bought a 6D to pair with my 7D, and I'm glad I did. I still like the 7D for wildlife photography, and use the 6D for everything else.

You haven't really said what you shoot, intend to shoot, or what you're looking to do.

In either case, I had a 5d2 and 7d pair for 3+ years doing weddings, and they complemented each other really well. I would think the 6d is comparable to the 5d2, so would expect you would feel similarly. My 5d3 has the best of both, though

I use the 7D for sport, and the 6D for pretty much everything else.

I use my 7D for sports. Sits around with a 70-200 on it. Otherwise using the 6D.

I use my 7D for sports/birds and my 6D for everything else. I thought about a 5DIII but the 6D is so good in low light (and less expensive) that I went with the 6D.

I've used a 5DII and a 5DIII. They're great cameras. The 6D just serves me better.
