---Nevermind about this waiting for it to be deleted and posted a different thread asking for sports shots.---

Does anyone with the Canon S2 IS use it much in general sports from indoor to outdoor and what modes or settings are some basics to use...how good is the pic wuality and when is the image noise noticable etc?
Also what about pic noise for doing the sports mode or quick shutter etc? I'm looking into buying this cam mainly for sports but also for lots of general nature landscape etc this weekend. Please post some example shots if you have any from the s2 with sports or quick movement.
I saw this post about Action Shots but no one gave examples and jp if you read this are just those 'S2 Stuff' pics from the s2 or is the whole different galleries part of it?

If this is any of a repetitive post and this could get some more info...if I get this cam it'll be my first canon and I plan on using this site alot, just found it searching for info. I've had a sharp but only took basic shots back then and leaned over a pool to much and bye bye went the camera. Now I have a Sony P100 but the grainyness is pretty bad for lots of sports shots.

Search this forum for "S2" and among the general topics you'll get several lengthy discussions on shooting sports and action pictures. I recall someone posting some great shots of motorcycle racing taken with an S2. And someone posted some links to other sites with S2 image galleries that include some good sports shots.

In general, the S2 will do pretty well for outdoor sports; it's decent even under stadium lighting conditions. Indoor sports are more difficult, given that many gyms aren't really very brightly lit. Most say noise is acceptable up to ISO 400 settings; some think not, while still others feel even higher ISO is OK. I think that's probably very much a matter of personal preference. No, S2 images won't be confused for a DSLR's under poor light, but I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a better all-around camera these days.

30D; 24-85 EF; 70-300 EF IS; 50 1.4 EF
and a much-beloved old FTb 35mm!
