I have loads more still to go through, but here are a few from my recent trip to the Farne Islands, off our North Sea coast.

All great shots. You could call the razorbill "Scarface". ;-)a

Nice, I am trying to arrange a trip there later this month. What lenses would you recommend?

Thanks. All my shots were taken with a 100-400L. When I went, people had a whole range of lenses, including 500/600 primes which IMO for the Farnes is too much. You are so close to the birds I would suggest something in the region of 300-400.

One thing you will need though is a hat, especially if you visit Inner Farne. You are walking within inches of nesting Terns & if they're protecting chicks they will attack & peck at your head. Makes for an interesting visitor experience!!

Enjoy.

Very nice shots Richard. I was there last Tuesday with a 500mm and even though the birds are near you just need to stand further back or shoot birds further away. I'll post some later in a new thread. The only ones I struggled with were the terns but even 200mm would have been too much as they were attacking and hitting you
