I'm looking around at sports portraits. I have an idea what I want to do with lighting.

I want to use a black background and do something kinda dramatic with the light. Some of the images I see look like they are done in HDR too, but I"m not sure if that's the case.
It's for a wrestler.

I have in my budget 1 alien bee and softbox.
I own a reflector and 2 flashes now, and 2 umbrellas.

I've seen a few shots with side lighting with 1 light. Would anyone be kind to share their examples? It could be any sport.

Here's a couple from me.

1. 430ex camera right and a Yongnuo 56? Left and back a ways.

Thanks abbypanda.

Both flashes were bare in the baseball shot.

For the swim shot I think I may have had my little 18" soft box attached, but to be honest, I'm not 100% sure. That photo was taken a couple of years ago and it's one of my favorites from 1000's of swim photos I've taken. Not exactly sure why. Maybe it's the boys perfect hair :-)
