I like them too. Good lighting, nice light shadows across the face. All you need are some 'professional' backgrounds and your set!

Thank you everyone for all your comments, I took your advice and lightened one by .5, it does look better. Is this what you had in mind?

I think these are very good. A great looking model too. The softness while being sharp is great.

I'm not crazy about the landscape orientation with your wife fixed right in the middle. Too much black nothing to either side of her makes her look insignificant in the photo. I really like how #2 is composed. The lighting looks pretty good ratio-wise, but I think maybe a ½ stop under exposed.

EDIT: I guess you got the ½ stop fixed...lol. I should read the whole thread before commenting. Anyway, yeah. That looks so much better. Now just crop those other photo's and you've got a great set of photos.

There are a couple where her shoulders are square on, or the opposite extreme - almost sideways on - you might try playing with her pose so that her shoulders are more 45 degrees. If possible, getting her to drop her back shoulder, and tilting her head towards her front shoulder will make the pose the classic feminine pose, which has a really classic feel to it.

But, they're lovely shots - well lit, focussed, and, apart from the landscape one, with your wife right in the middle, nicely composed as well.

What a joy to have a wife that will work with you!! She looks comfortable with you and the camera. The black background helps her stand out, but she would stand out anyway!

I'm glad that you fixed the link. They were worth waiting for. This is my favorite. Keep it up.
