To me, this is a good starting point for more work. The sunset colors just aren't there yet, or maybe they were there before you shot & just didn't come back.
The horizon isn't level.
And finally, I just don't see anything there to engage my interest. Maybe if you had put the camera on a tripod, tripped the self timer, & run down & stood/sat on the end of the dock?

if it were me, i'd level the horizon, crop right down the center of dock and make that my left edge. put the edge of he water on the horizon on the upper third horizontal and really push the colors and bump the contrast.

quick screen grab to show you:

After reading Frank's comment, I had a passing thought: why not change your perspective next time? Maybe shoot with your camera lying on the dock or on a tripod at it's lowest possible height? I could be way off base here, but it might give kind of a more dramatic look to the boats. Just a thought. :)

I like that. Thank you. :)

the tried and true method to pleasing landscape composition is to divide you picture into thirds, horizontally and vertically.

decide if the focus is on either the sky or the land and place the horizon on the lower third to emphasize the sky and on the upper third to emphasize the land. you rarely want the horizon dead center. the same with foreground subject, try to place them on one side or the other as close as you can the vertical third points.

there is a reason in the processing software when you crop it throws a 3x3 grid on the screen, its so you can place your subjects and focus where it should be. the camera itself should be able to overly this same 3x3 grid on the lcd preview.
