Since my handguns are in Mt. I figured I would have a go at photographing one of my Randalls. I dont think by the results I am going to quit my day job.

Nice shot Bruce. I hope it didn't slide on that rock! How do you like those grips?

No slipping or sliding done here. Placement was very carefully done. ;)
The Pachmeyer Compacts are GREAT! They've been on the Smith for 20 some odd years. I still have the original wooden grips in the box, and buried somewhere.
Blue Deuce Thats a VERY nice knife. :D

I like the natural lighting and "backdrop" in that Bruce...
The "plain old" Pachmmeyer (been around for decades) have a lot to be said for themselves.

I have a pair for my Single action .44 Super Blackhawk... I never would have considered them if they did not come with them when I got it because they essentially destroy the classic six gun look of the Blackhawk..

BUT what they do for feel, and controlability is nothing short of remarkeable. What they offer is far more than a cushioned and better textured grip,. they also totally re-shape the contour of the grip (at least in this case)
They essentially turn the somewhat more awkward grip of a classic single action into something much more like the "bisley" style.. and the added texture makes controlling hot loads much much easier as well.

Thanks Jon & Jake. :D I've been inspired by Mr Lunde, and have been looking at different ways of displaying these firearms.
I think the natural settings and light seem to be the ticket.
Here are a couple more.

Good shots. I really like the atmosphere and feel with the stump... How do you like the Colt .380? I bought one for my wife a few years ago and sent it back the same day. She hated how small it felt in her hand. I ended up getting her a Walther .380 PPK/S which she liked a whole lot more.

Jon.

I am also looking for tips on how to light the tip of the inside of the barrel.

I haven't ever tried this, but... a couple of AA batteries, a resister, and an LED of appropriate color? The batteries could go in the grip, with the LED fed into the chamber to illuminate the interior of the barrel. Change the resistor until you get the brightness you need. Might need to experiment with exposures...

Lighting the barrel of a revolver would be a bigger challenge, unless you could work up something using hearing aid batteries so it would all fit in the cylinder or down the barrel...

Or maybe even something with a fiberoptic thread; that should fit through a small gap and be easily hidden.

Here is $3000.00 worth of gun. Freedom Arms Casull all tricked out. How does an 18 ounce trigger feel? Awesome. Not for the faint of heart to shoot. I have had them all ( Desert eagle 44, 50. Les Baer 45 premier II, To many Sigs to mention. Glock, Colt, S&W, Para Ordanance, Ruger,Grizzly 45 win mag, Kimber, Les Brown, Caspian, Wilson, Freedom Arms). I was the ultimate gun whore. My rifle collection is another story. My Ar 15's are all put away waiting for anything. 8000 rounds of .223 ammo and counting. The terrorist best not come down my street. I shot competition for (5) years. However nothing feels better than pushing the shutter with my 500 IS on a nice whitetail.

What could possibly be better than a photo forum with a thread on gun pictures? Ah, life is grand. I will not photo them all ( it would take forever) but I have to take a pic of my Sig P-220 limited edition. Only 12 were made of this model by Lew Horton. I'll have to get a picture of it.

Mike, glad you made it! I was thinking about the barrel light and thought a penlight may work. Maglight flashlights makes a single AAA model called the solitair. I bet it is under .40 cal. You could place it in the barrel. You could also put tissue paper over the end to soften it or to color it if you used colored paper.

Do whats right HERE

I took the M22 Phoenix 6.5x55 SE, M21 MTV .223, and M57-BR .22LR to the range this morning. I mainly wanted to break-in the barrel of the 6.5x55 SE as it was new. It produced the following astonishing group:

My M21 MTV .223 produced a five-shot 100-yard group that measured 3/8".
