Hey, if you're a good shot, a single chambered round should do the trick!

No matter how good a shot you are, you can't fire a 1911 from a hammer down condition. :)

True, but even if I consider myself at least a decent shot, only one in the pipe is not enough anyway :)

What if the bad guy has a friend ? :D:D:D

Yes, but we were referring to message #209 and that MkIV is cocked and locked (or condition 1, if you prefer, since it seems to me that we share another hobby (IDPA/IPSC) besides photography).

Right ... someone complained it was cocked and had no mag in it ... my point was that it's pretty useless if it's not cocked. :)

I do agree that photographing it with the mag out is distracting unless you want to show the mag well itself.

I'm a mean old man... I didn't feel like unloading a magazine for him... Because I would have had to load it again!

Darn it! Just got my estimate from Robar. My Kimber CDP won't be back until about May 15. .. TWO MONTHS!

I'll go nuts waiting.

While I'm waiting, I'm living vicariously through others. Check out this fellow's Springer GI with USMC Kabar setup. The background is a little distracting, but the setup and the light are terrific. You'll like it. Something for the gun guys and the knife guys!

How about some mixed rounds ? :) These are some of the leftovers after an IPSC match :) 9x21, .40 SW and 45 ACP (and I think a 38 SA in the background)

Neat photo, Rob! Would make a great example for showing someone how to control DOF, too.

I am surprised that .40 S&W and .45 ACP are legal in Italy, I thought military/law enforcement calibers were restricted.

Stay safe!

Actually today only the 9mm Parabellum is restricted. That's why IMI invented the 9x21 (even better performances tan the 9x19 aka 9 Parabellum :D) and long time ago Hirtenberger invented the .45 HP (shorter than the ACP. Then, finally someone realized that we could not restrict every caliber used for any army/LEO in the world, so finally in 1990 or so we had the .45 ACP available. Same for rifles, .308 Winchester and .223 Remington are basically the same in respect to the NATO 7.62 and 5.56 (basically, there are some slight differences in the shoulders angle but my Colt M4 was shooting the 5.56 without any problem, and my Remingotn Police shooths smootly the 7.62, and yes, I have some friends in the Army :D) Its a sort of fireforming :) :) :) :)

Stay safe and shoot right.

I bought a slight distraction from firearms last week, specifically a fully-loaded 2006 Infiniti FX35 AWD...

I may need to start doing more vehicle photos. ;)

BTW, the FX35 is simply awesome!
