I wouldn't but then I have a MkII already. I have shot with the MkIII several times now and though I easily admit that it is the best all around camera Canon is making right now, the final image is really no different than what I am getting from my MkII. Outside of it's AF, it just way too close in performance and the one thing you mention,

It doesn't improve at all. If you would have said, "I need something with a better focus system", then maybe it's worth it. but shutter speed, ISO capability, image quality, feature set, it's just too close to justify the doubling in cost.
