I recently got a Canon 400mm f/5.6 and was wondering how the tape trick is done for AF? I saw a pic of it been done in another teleconverter but the pin numbers were different. I put the tape in the last 3 pins anyway but it didnt work and told me there was a communication error. Tried in different pis but unsuccessfully. Can it be done with it? How?

Tried it a good light and no AF was ever achieved.

Hold up the TC so the pins are facing you at the top. Tape the 3 pins on the left, not the 3 which are isolated..........
