Personally, I'd rather see it on a kickstand, but the bike looks really nice in these.

I like the first one. The way the foreground road leads you to the bike and ends with the trees in the distance just works. Good detail and reflections from the strobes. Exhaust has a slightly harsh reflection on it, though.

The background on the second is underwhelming.

Try shooting closer to dusk you'll get some nice background colors :D

Nice work!

Thx guy's :)
PhotosGuy; i really have to disagree with you there, like bike pic's much better on a paddock stand, but evryone got a different taste :)

ddk632; Thx :) i did shoot theese pic's without a softbox at my speelite's, should i used that to get that hars reflecktion from the exhaust away? i was 10 min too late to get these shots at dusk, but i'll try another day :)

I am new myself at the strobist stuff. I don't have a soft box but have been wanting to get something that better diffuses the light of the flash. Sometimes I also use gels, especially at dusk, to match the flash color to the ambient light. I am still very much experimenting at this point. One way I've found to reduce harshness is to use flash in manual mode and at half or quarter power, as it may be.

Being a former club racer, I appreciate the look of a sport bike on a rear wheel stand :D

I raced a Suzuki SV650, with bone stock motor, in WSMC (Willow Springs Motorcycle Club, out in California).

Have fun at the track day - first one?

No problem. It's your bike & your image. And... your training wheels, too! :D

I think paddock stand is fine for paddock pictures, I never see someone tour trough the hills with his paddock stand in a backpack? ...

I prefer it on the race stand myself. To me it gives a better and cleaner look than the leaned over kickstand look. And besides just about everyone shoots with a bike on a kickstand, why follow the herd ?

Nice work on the lighting and I must say that is one fine looking machine you have there.
