I like to take my landscape work to the next level. Should I be looking at a prime? Will one of the wide primes be better than the 17-40 I am currently using in terms of sharpness?

I am happy with the 17-40. I am just wondering in terms of sharpness would a prime be any better? Canon 5D3, 60D, 70-200 L f4 IS, 17-40L,16-35f4, 24-105L,100 f2.8, 85 f/1.8, 55-250 IS, 400 f/5.6, Ziess 21 2.8, canon 1.4, 430EX www.flickr.com/photos/maggiesguy

ToddLambert I don't like titles More info | Jun 16, 2013 18:54 | #6 What Jeffrey says. I'd recommend the TS-E lenses as they are some of the sharpest glass that Canon makes and will offer a dramatic improvement over the 17-40. Then there's the flexibility that tilting and shifting brings to the table, which takes them to a whole other level.

M_Six Cream of the Crop More info | Another voice here for the TS-E. The 24mm TS-E is insanely sharp and makes panoramas or mega-huge images a snap. Check out the 24mm TS-E thread. There are many uber-talented landscape gurus posting there. Mark J.
