A couple of buddies of mine have a rebadged 180SX and 350Z with it's respective Japanese counterpart, the S13 Silvia and FairladyZ, but only after spending THOUSANDS of dollars converting the engine and exterior of the car into its JDM versions.

But nothing irks me more than seeing a near-stock USDM vehicle badged as a JDM one.

Earn it. lol

Indeed we are getting the R35 Skyline in the states.. and detuned it will not be! Nissan is still debating on powerplants.. but all sources point to a 450hp, twin turbo version of the VQ35 in the current 350z/G35. But yes, our current g35 is what they call a "skyline coupe" in Japan right now.

I personally do not dig the whole JDM/EDM rebadging thing that is going on lately. However, how are you supposed to "earn it". The Skyline 350GT is essentially the same car as the G35C. The only differences would be some options and safety equipment necessitated by US DOT regulations.

there must be points awarded for originality. i call my car OEM+ there are some things that are JDM, EDM and even my personal touches. Most of the time people who have the same car cant tell the differences, but it makes me happy. I'm the one forking out the money. if it doesnt please me why do it?

i agree... the US G35 is a japanese Nissan Skyline. Its not super detuned though, the current skyline isnt the high performance sports car as it was - thats what the new concept is all about - infact, the 4 door G35 sedan is also a Skyline (saw one myself while on vacation in St. Lucia)

anyway, here's proof off the nissan.co.jp website

IIRC the Skyline itself was not always a high performance sports car...it was the GT-R version of the vehicle that most ppl are familar with.

Nice shot! I bit wider crop would be nice, though. ;) OTOH, it looks like it's caged & trying to break out. :D

Scratch that, from looking at your previous posts you drive a BMW 3-series (E36). Let's look at sales figures:

1998 BMW E36 Series total sales: 429,900

2005 Infiniti G35 (Coupe and Sedan) total sales: 68,728

Your point?
