I need a filter kit; I already have a CPL and a screw-on 9-stop Hoya filter, but I'm going to need some more serious stuff for a landscape workshop. The guy doing the workshop recommends a starter kif of Lee filters but they seem to be a) expensive, and b) out of stock everywhere I look (trying to keep to UK or EU shops to avoid insane shipping fees). Can anyone recommend a comparable quality system that doesn't have a months-long waiting list?

I live in the Netherlands and get all my Lee stuf from this store:

Almost everything is always in stock. I am not sure if they ship to other countries, you have to check that.

Oh, studiokitdirect seems to be in stock, thanks for that!

But £300 for a starter kit + adapter ring? That's like two thirds of the cost of the entire workshop...

Where are you seeing £300? I'm seeing £125 for the "starter kit" without an adapter ring (which costs about £35 by itself for the WA version):

Uh, meant 200, not 3 :). Still pretty steep...

Robert White normally have a good supply of Lee filters. Their website shows live stock status. They currently have the foundation kit, most grads and polarisers in stock. You could also try Speedgraphic.

Nope. One doesn't exist. If you want a Lee Big Stopper you need to do one of three things...

1. Order one and wait hoping the store you ordered it from gets one first
2. Order one from 4 or 5 places and after the first one ships cancel your other orders. Increases the chances that the store you have one on backorder with will get one first.
3. Pay way too much for one from a UK/EU retailer, or a scalper... er, umm... I mean "speculator" in the POTN "Sale" Forum or on eBay. ;)

Or you can do what I did which is buy a B+W 82mm #110 and a bunch of step-up rings and use that while you wait...

You could try the SERK holder and adapter rings; its a Lee knock-off available on eBay.

B&H have them in. Had mine ordered within hours of getting the email notifying they were back in stock.

^^^ This - Give them a ring - A load of stuff is showing as 'in stock' but If they don't have them in stock you can be put on the waiting list.

I have bought all of my Lee stuff from Robert White. Reasonable, with reasonable shipping charges. Most things seem to be in stock when I want it. I never tried to get a big stopper, but everything else.
