So my friend has asked me to record his steel drum band on Thursday with his 5D Mark II. I haven't really done much video recording with mine. Maybe one time just to fool around with it. Until today. I am quite certain I will be using my tripod. My steady hands only last so long and that works fine for stills. But for video, I think I'll use a tripod.
Does anyone have any other suggestions? I have a grip head for my tripod. I also have a ball head as well. I left my 3 handle video head in Georgia (long story, I'm up in Illinois looking for work and only packed essentials).
I'm only going to be shooting 20 - 30 second bursts of video and then picking up and moving to a different location and then recording another 20 - 30 seconds. Nothing special. He just wants to show a client how HE sounds when playing. It should be a fun day.
I know the autofocus is nonexistent on the Canons. I feel like I should try and convince him to let me use my Nikon because that has autofocus. It's slow but at least it will autofocus.
What do you all think?
