My sixth digit is a "6". :( I'll just have to drop it off. Dang!

I wonder how many photos you need to take before this really becomes a problem... I haven't noticed any issues with mine, but I only have about 20k shots. I'll send it in eventually, but I'll do it when it's convenient (or if I actually notice a problem). I'd rather not expose my camera to UPS/FedEx more than necessary.

I have only about 1500 shots... But I'd rather take care of it sooner than later since I can just drop it off at Canon Irvine.

Really? I'm fairly surprised you both are into photography enough to justify a 1D X, yet it is your only body?!

Where does it have to be sent in the U.K. as I note that some service centres will not deal with the 1D-X?

If your livelihood doesn't depend on your photography, why would one need more than one body? That comment is a bit odd. ;)

So am I reading this right? The 'driving mechanism' might wear over time? Does that mean that if yours wasn't so lubricated it spattered oil all over the AA filter at high frame rates, it's susceptible to this wear?
