As a suggestion, you might try baiting it...pre-focus and wait for the bee to fly towards it.

It amazes me how they manage to get off the ground in the first place, cool IF capture, Bas.

These lavender are the worst thing, there are lots of them and bees only stop for 0.5 seconds per flower, then dart off to a random flower elsewhere.

I may try baiting something less busy, thanks for the suggestion.
