 No, I rode on a bike with a sidecar. Most bikes there are 125cc or scooters. Not unusual to see them with 3 people riding on one bike.

Is there another vehicle that makes use of the motor bikes rear end?

I love these things. As Master TongChen points out these kinds of taxi's are very common and wonderfully practical. No doubt there are problems on steep hills with over fed Western occupants, but otherwise ... nice :-) My urban transport of choice when travelling East.

I'm not sure what they did with the rear part, but, they certainly don't waste much in China. They find a use for most things.

No, I think you are talking about another place. Possibly Mount Taishan? This Taishan is 4 hour bus ride out of Hong Kong. This is close to Guangzhou.

I saw these bikes in Thailand and Bankok. Over there they call the Tuk Tuk's.. They must thrash them hard.
