Hello, recently I did a shoot with my friend for his upcoming album. And he wanted to do the same effect as the Mothers of Invention Freak Out! album seen here: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freak_Out! (external link)

I currently have PS CS6 and Lightroom 4. Can anyone show me how to make the psychedelic effect on photos like on the album on the link I provided? Or anything close would be good. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

If steroids are illegal for athletes, should PS be illegal for models?

Select a colour range possibly? make sure it's not too harsh though

Try heavy contrast, lots of blacks and then shift the hue. It will start you in that direction.

You can also use a solarize type curves adjustment.

Thank you guys for all your help. But the Gradient Map suggestion got me the closest to the effect I was going for. Thanks again!
