NY Story ...

Yesterday was the photo call for a show I'm currently shooting rehearsals of ... it's quite a spectacular dance piece so I was looking forward to shooting it on stage ... unfortunately the stage is occupied until the show actually gets on there so the photo call happened in another rehearsal room, under working lights - not ideal, especially as I know that that room has some decent stage lights to provide a nicer and brighter wash, if nothing else, but they weren't used. So, fast paced dance under strip lights it was ... I went with the ISO needed to get shots and hang the noise, although I could probably do more about it now.

As the title implies, the show follows along the lines of West Side Story, although the photo call wasn't in any real order, just some more visual extracts ...

nice series.. only nit pick I have is they look a little grainy on my monitor..

There's noise/grain ... I've never been happy with my noise reduction post, so these are a result of a "like it or lump it" approach - a better one is needed! I'll try something else in a bit and post something a bit better later on, hopefully ... I have to process a load of rehearsal photos first.

Glad they're otherwise on the metaphorical money ... the costume design was certainly very vibrant, which was good as the room was not on this occasion ...

Tiny nit pic: #5 and 6 have a bit of a green cast.

I don't mind the noise. If anything, I'd probably add a bit of grain to the less noisy shots (or reduce noise, then add grain in LR)

Must be something in the colour of the costumes as they do look different, but the lighting hadn't changed (difficult to change much when the lighting is workers' lights) - maybe I just forgot to correct them. Not sure if the final one has a cast of its own as well.

I bumped the ISO when I saw the sequence of #4/5 coming because I'd seen it in rehearsals and knew I'd need a lower shutter speed, that's why the first shots have less noise than the later ones ... for the sake of matching, a little grain could work.
