I'm having a hell of a hard time finding ISO 12800 content, and I shoot my 50 normally, and it doesnt get that high of ISO. I have ISO 1600 sample ETTR'd 2 stops, but that doesnt prove much. I dont think I have any 12800 and ettr'd that much.

I'd be happy with say ISO1600 no EC, ISO3200 w/+1 and ISO6400 w/+2 ;)

well, you might be onto something, here's 1600 left, 12800 right pulled down 3 stops.

IMAGE: http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/203/9kjz.jpg

only thing I did was set white balance the same, the rest tripod manual settings, F5.6, 1/4s, 1600/12800 EOS-M

little less noise, but sharpness a little less as well.

Not sure if this helps..
I am no expert on ETTR, just started playing and found it to be very useful.

One of the ETTR article author mentioned that, more than half of the tones are captured in final stop (brighter). Does it mean we are wasting half of the sensor when we underexpose image.

Just messing around with trying different things @ high ISO - This is 12800 on a 7D with some adjustments in LR4 but nothing to crazy that wouldnt be normally dont to a high ISO pic. Nothing super interseting but like i said im just trying to learn how to manage high ISO shots on my 7D - I dont really ever shoot @ 12800
