I am looking for something stable to mount 2 or more flashes on top of a light stand. I looked at a number of options but they all have the foot mounted on a piece of metal, which imo is not very stable. I m looking for something that clamps the flash head/body, and I wonder if such thing exist? If not I am wondering if anyone has done something similar?

You can put 1, 2, or 3 speedlights on it, and they are all hotshoes, so you only need one trigger to fire any speedlights mounted on it.

Folks, the OP does not want the kind that mounts the flash via the foot in a coldshoe. He is looking for the kind where the body (or the head) itself is held in place on the adapter.

do you avoid mounting your flash to the top of your camera too?

or is there some special condition where you feel better having the flash cranked down?

otherwise, here's an option http://www.bhphotovideo.com …11643&Q=&is=REG&A=details (external link)

to me, rubber bands are less stable than metal to metal.

The rubber band is not as stable for sure, but the idea of mounting the flash side way is what I am looking for, thanks.
