We've got a hefty little fire out this away...


I ended up in the path of the thickest part of the smoke, and a fantastic view of the sun.
250mm, at around 1/1000 or 1/1250 through all the smoke, and I think I captured a few sunspots.
Not what I was expecting, but if they are indeed sunspots I feel pretty lucky!

YW , a lot of times in those kind of conditions you can actually see the sun naked eye and get some good pictures but be very careful if the sun breaks out then don't take chances !

never! I kind of learned my lesson with that Eclipse last year...yikes.
Fortunately this was dark...the smoke was above us and going up several thousand feet so we got lucky on this one.
I don't expect that kind of luck again for a long while!
